Project Product Quality Engineer

About the role

This role provides dedicated execution capacity to ensure proactive risk identification, mitigation, and learning activities are planned, executed, and followed up. You will strengthen projects by enabling risks to be identified early, addressed systematically, and learned from, while technical decisions remain with engineering teams. You will also contribute to improving ways of working for proactive product quality.

Work tasks

This role focuses on integrating proactive quality assurance throughout the product development lifecycle. You will lead efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring our complex products meet the highest standards from conception to field operation. It involves both hands-on facilitation and strategic process improvement.

• Facilitate CTF/Q identification and DFMEA or Change-FMEA in development and redesign projects.
• Guide analyses towards real failure mechanisms, system behavior, and subsystem interfaces.
• Follow up on high-risk items and escalate unresolved risks through project channels.
• Add hands-on capacity to facilitate structured root cause analysis for critical production or field issues.
• Coach project, R&D, Operations, and GSD teams in performing effective Root Cause Analysis.
• Help bridge design intent, production reality, and field behavior to ensure quality.
• Ensure relevant input from Operations and GSD is included early in the development process.

We are looking for

• Engineering degree, preferably in Mechatronics, Mechanics, or Electronics.
• Good knowledge of Risk Management and Change Management.
• Advanced knowledge of FMEA and Root Cause Analysis.
• Proven record of applying Design for Manufacturing (DfM), Design for Testability (DfT), and Design for Serviceability (DfS) in real projects.
• Experience working with complex, multi-subsystem products.
• Practical experience from development projects and/or major redesigns.
• Experience collaborating across R&D, Operations, and Service.
• Strong risk-based thinking in product development.
• Ability to pragmatically use CTF/CTQ, xFMEA, and RCA as practical problem-solving tools.
• Good understanding of system and interface risks.
• Advanced facilitation skills for workshops and analysis sessions.
